Coming Soon · Release: To Be Announced
Game details
Explore a shattered world in Modulink, a roguelite where you recover forgotten tech to build circuits, solve puzzles, and reconnect
Centuries after a massive catastrophe fractured the world, humanity lives in scattered pockets among the decaying ruins of a lost era. You step into the role of Tinker, a young researcher who leaves the safety of home to explore these remnants of the Old World. Accompanied by Repo, a hovering companion that doubles as your digital journal, you set out to recover the forgotten technology that could help bridge the gap between these isolated communities. It is a journey into a world where the past is a mystery waiting to be pieced back together.
The core of your journey revolves around finding Modules and snapping them into circuits. These aren't just static upgrades; they are the keys to unlocking new attacks and abilities. You are encouraged to experiment with these components, as connecting them can lead to unexpected effects that change how you interact with the world. You can swap their order and placement at any time, allowing you to reshape your build on the fly to handle whatever the environment throws at you.
Combat is only one part of the equation. These same Modules serve a variety of utility functions, from opening locked doors and repairing broken machinery to solving intricate puzzles. You will also use them to assist the people you encounter, helping to restore the systems they rely on to survive. Because the game does not provide easy answers, you must test each piece of technology, observe how it behaves, and record your findings in Repo to master the mechanics.
What makes this experience unique is the emphasis on learning as a persistent mechanic. While you might lose the physical items you find during an expedition, the knowledge you gain about how each Module functions is yours to keep forever. You are expected to apply this hard-won insight as you venture deeper into the world, moving from bright mega cities to dense factories and lightless quarries.
The world itself is built to keep you on your toes, with combat arenas, traversal challenges, and puzzles procedurally assembled into a different route every time you head out. You are constantly forced to improvise with the limited parts you manage to uncover, making every encounter a test of your ability to adapt your build to the specific challenges of the machines you face.
If you enjoy games that demand observation and experimentation over simple button-mashing, this should be on your radar. It is designed for those who appreciate a roguelite experience where the knowledge you gain persists even when your physical progress is reset. If you like piecing together complex systems and enjoy the idea of a world that rewards curiosity, you will likely find a lot to dig into here.
