About this game

Defend the skies in CLOUD PATROL, a fast-paced aerial FPS featuring high-mobility combat, deep upgrade systems, and endless roguelike

In CLOUD PATROL, you step into the boots of the youngest flyer tasked with protecting the floating islands that have served as a barrier for generations. As the swarm descends to claim these skies, you become the final line of defense, navigating a series of drifting arenas. It is a high-stakes role where the atmosphere shifts from noon patrols to intense storm fronts and night raids, all set against the backdrop of a world under siege.

Gameplay

The combat is fast and aerial, demanding that you master movement to survive. You will need to dodge, strafe, and double-jump across floating arenas while drones swarm you from every direction. The game gives you the freedom to dictate the pace of the fight; you might choose to pick off distant Scouts, shove a heavy Brute out of your way, or stand your ground against a literal wall of fire. It is all about managing your space and choosing the right tool for the specific threat currently closing in on your position.

Between your sorties, you return to a central hub to prepare for the next wave. This is where you spend your hard-earned coins to unlock new weapons—ranging from the standard Repeater to the piercing Railgun—and invest in upgrade tracks for your armor, firepower, and thrusters. You can also adjust the difficulty level or roll for modifiers that change the conditions of your next fight, such as overclocked enemies or limited supplies. If the current roll does not suit your strategy, you can simply spend more coins to try again.

Beyond the core campaign, the game includes an endless mode that generates waves based on a growing threat budget, testing how long you can survive before the swarm finally overwhelms you. For those looking for long-term progression, the ASCENSION kiosk allows you to climb through thirty cycles of increasing difficulty, where enemies become tougher and your own stat caps rise to meet the challenge. Even when you are not actively flying, an idle patrol system ensures you are still earning a little something while the game remains open.

What stands out

What really sets the action apart is the variety of the twelve campaign levels, each featuring its own distinct biome, sky, and sun. Whether you are navigating the burning Shattered Ring or a quiet night raid, the environment feels tailored to the mission. This is complemented by ten unique enemy archetypes and three multi-phase bosses, including a Hive that constantly summons reinforcements and a Mender that keeps its allies in the fight. Boss encounters remain intense because they are designed to keep their escorts topped up, ensuring the sky never feels truly empty.

The weaponry is designed with a strong focus on visual and mechanical feedback. Every gun has a distinct feel, from the Scatter’s visible fan of pellets to the Mortar’s voxel fireballs and the Lance’s sweeping column of light. Even the Railgun leaves a lingering trail in the air for a few seconds, helping you keep track of your shots in the heat of battle. These details, combined with the star bonuses for clean clears and daily tasks, ensure that every run feels like it is feeding into your overall progress.

Who might enjoy it

If you enjoy high-mobility shooters that reward tactical movement and strategic upgrades, this will likely be right up your alley. Players who appreciate games that offer both a structured campaign and endless modes will find plenty to sink their teeth into, especially with the added depth of the ASCENSION system that keeps the challenge scaling over thirty cycles. It is built for those who like to see their progress reflected in both their pilot's capabilities and their ability to tackle increasingly difficult modifiers.
