Dive into the ruins of a sunken world in this roguelike deckbuilder. Manage your hull, loot deep chambers, and build a base to challenge
If you are looking for a fresh take on deckbuilding, Fathom Reach invites you into a ruined, underwater world where every dive is a high-stakes gamble. This single-player roguelike challenges you to navigate the depths, where your success depends on your ability to read enemy intentions and adapt your strategy on the fly.
Combat is all about reading your opponents and choosing the right targets. You will need to chain your cards into explosive combos to gain the upper hand. Whether you are turning your armor into a devastating crushing strike, filling a chamber with swarms of drones, or letting corrosion slowly whittle down your foes, the game gives you the tools to break the rules of standard combat.
Your hull is your most precious resource, as it carries every bit of damage you take into your next fight. In the Endless Descent mode, you are constantly faced with a tough decision: do you bank your current haul and surface, or do you push deeper into more dangerous chambers for better loot? It is a constant tug-of-war between greed and survival.
Beyond the core combat, you can craft and upgrade a deck from over 220 cards across four distinct factions. You can also customize your experience with dive modules that change how your favorite cards interact. For those who want variety, the game offers solo modes like Open Descent and a shared Daily Signal, all of which can be played entirely offline.
The game introduces a unique base-building element where you can design a challenge for other divers. By placing gun-coral and various traps, you can create a defensive layout centered around a specific Pressure-Heart. Once you publish your base, it remains active even while you are away, allowing you to refine your defenses based on the reports you receive from those who attempt to raid you.
This game is a perfect fit if you enjoy tactical card battlers that reward careful planning and risk management. If you like the idea of balancing short-term gains against long-term survival, or if you enjoy designing defensive layouts to test other players, you will find plenty to sink your teeth into here.
